West Virginia Painter Jeanne Brenneman’s Work at Creekside Resort and Spa
Unspoiled natural beauty and peaceful landscape vistas are a great source of enjoyment for many staying at Creekside and traveling in our part of West Virginia. Local artist Jeanne Brenneman captures the qualities of the landscape beautifully in her delicate watercolors. Jeanne’s subjects range from old farm equipment weathering in a field to sketches of wild flowers, from historic sites to simple scenes of animals grazing in meadows. Originally from Pennsylvania, Jeanne has been living and painting in West Virginia since 1973. She is a signature member of the West Virginia Watercolor Society and a founding member of Greenbrier Artists, a local painting group who has met weekly since 1974.
She has shown work and won awards in numerous juried exhibitions and has done commissioned work for many corporations and individuals. She paints and teaches watercolor classes in her home studio in Lewisburg, West Virginia, where she lives with her husband, Bruce, a retired research forester. Jeanne has led painting workshops at Creekside, making the most of the natural beauty at hand to inspire her students. Many guests enjoy taking prints and cards of her work home with them as a way to remember their time here. Next time you visit Creekside, be sure to take time to see Jeanne’s work at Creekside’s White Oak Gallery.
“ I need to be connected to the natural world, and I want my art to express
the joy and delight I find there.“ Jeanne Brenneman
